June Jordan School for Equity is a non-profit organization that has partnered with the District to open a new high school (grades 9-12). The school includes a "junior institute" which allows students to build study skills and maintain the same teachers for ninth and tenth grade, and a "senior institute" for eleventh and twelfth grade students to targeted neighborhoods in South-East San Francisco. In the first year of operation, the school will serve 100 ninth grade students and be housed on the campus of San Francisco State University.
