The premise for this design comes from the history of conflicts between China and Tibet. The focus is on one particular account that shows a glimpse of the level of China’s tyranny and atrocity and depth of incivility and inhumanity. In 1995, 6 year-old Gedhun Choekyi Nyima was named the 11th Panchen Lama. Days after his selection he was seized by government officials and in his place the People’s Republic of China named Gyancain Norbu as Panchen Lama. Gedhun Choekyi Nyima hasn’t been seen since. On the right side, you’ll see the silhouette of a robed-monk child who represents Gedhun.
