The idea for Food Wars developed from our young animators’ desire to examine the negative impact of gang violence in their community. Because the group wanted to examine the issue beyond the boundaries of their own community, they chose to use fruits and vegetables to represent two opposing communities. The animators used audio and video as well as real world props to create a short film that discusses their perceptions of gang violence and to offer a thought on the resolution of the violence.
